After failing to sign Elliot Anderson, Teddy Sheringham has urged Manchester United to intensify their chase of Adam Wharton. A deal for about £116 million has been concluded between Manchester City and Nottingham Forest for the midfield player.
Additionally, United will have one less engine room component to pursue while they search for a long-term replacement for Casemiro, who is leaving. Since the Brazilian’s departure was announced earlier this year, the Reds have been linked to a plethora of talent, and it has been challenging for football fans to separate the rumors from the reality.

However, Sheringham, who played for United from 1997 to 2001, believes that Wharton of Crystal Palace should be the club’s top objective. “Adam Wharton’s absence from the World Cup makes it a good time for Manchester United to get that deal done,” he stated in an interview with BOYLE Sports.
“I like both of them, but I believe Elliot Anderson is the superior player. Both of them are extremely at ease with the ball. Elliot Anderson’s transfer to c has received a lot of attention, but I think Anderson or Wharton would be excellent additions. (Michael) Carrick is aware that if Manchester United is playing at Old Trafford, they must set up camp in the opposing team’s half.
