Manchester United’s hopes of securing a sizeable financial boost from Mason Greenwood next transfer have suffered a setback after reports claimed the forward has agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce.
Greenwood had previously expressed his desire to remain at Marseille after enjoying an impressive debut season in France, where he scored 26 goals in 44 appearances.

However, fresh reports from L’Equipe suggest the Turkish giants have now reached an agreement with the 24-year-old’s representatives over a lucrative contract.
The biggest obstacle remains Marseille’s valuation. The Ligue 1 club are demanding €50 million for Greenwood, while Fenerbahce are reportedly unwilling to offer more than €30 million plus performance-related bonuses.
Marseille Hold Firm Despite Growing Interest
The reported gap in valuation is also a concern for Manchester United, who included a 40 percent sell-on clause when Greenwood joined Marseille. The higher the transfer fee, the greater the financial return for the Red Devils.
While Fenerbahce are leading the race after agreeing personal terms, AS Roma have also been credited with an interest. However, the Serie A side are expected to balance their finances through player sales before making a formal move, reports Express.
Despite Greenwood’s impressive goal return, his performances came under scrutiny at times during the campaign. Former France international Christophe Dugarry publicly criticised the forward, accusing him of failing to show enough commitment and leadership in key matches.
Marseille remain open to selling Greenwood this summer as they look to resolve his future before the end of June. Although the French club are facing financial pressures, they are reportedly unwilling to lower their €50 million asking price, leaving negotiations with interested clubs finely balanced.
