Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes, and David Raya, three important players from Arsenal’s successful Premier League season, have been nominated for the coveted Men’s Player of the Year award by the Professional Footballers’ Association.
According to The Independent, the trio were crucial to the Gunners’ title challenge: goalkeeper Raya won the Premier League’s Golden Glove and contributed to Arsenal’s 19 clean sheets, while Brazilian centre-back Gabriel’s defensive tenacity and set-piece threat were equally impressive. Midfielder Rice was praised for his unceasing efforts and vital set-piece deliveries.
They are joined by the explosive Rayan Cherki, who has been a revelation for the Blues since his arrival last summer, and Manchester City’s prolific striker Erling Haaland, who led the league with 27 goals.
Bruno Fernandes, the Manchester United playmaker has also been nominated and acknowledged for his significant contribution to the team’s comeback, helping to achieve a Champions League return with a record-breaking 21 assists.
PFA Women’s Shortlist
Top talent is also highlighted on the Women’s Player of the Year award shortlist, with Yui Hasegawa and Bunny Shaw’s nominations reflecting Manchester City’s Women’s Super League title win.
Shaw, a powerful forward from Jamaica, scored 21 goals as City won the FA Cup and the WSL. Hasegawa, a Japanese international, was a crucial member of their midfield.

Alessia Russo, Arsenal and England forward was also shortlisted after finishing just below Shaw in the scoring standings with 13 goals.
Kirsty Hanson of Aston Villa, who scored 12 goals, and Lauren James of Chelsea and Manchester United’s Jess Park both England internationals, round up the list of six players.
The annual presentation, which takes place at Manchester Opera House on Tuesday, August 25, will reveal the winners of the men’s and PFA Player of the Year awards. The Young Player of the Year awards for the remainder of the EFL, including the Premier League, WSL, and WSL2, will also be given out during the ceremony.
