Alisson Becker is reportedly set to continue to play for Liverpool beyond the summer, despite reaching a personal agreement with Juventus.
Liverpool are bidding farewell to Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson this summer, and until the last day, it appeared that Alisson would also be leaving.
The 33-year-old elite goalkeeper had previously verbally agreed to personal terms with Juventus. Alisson wasn’t anticipated to be deterred by the Serie A powerhouse’s recent failure to qualify for the Champions League.
Only one year remains on the Brazilian’s Anfield contract. The shot-stopper was drawn to Juventus’ three-year contract because it offered stability and reliability at the top level.

Nonetheless, it was frequently stated that Alisson and Liverpool’s bond is still very strong. This summer, neither side wanted to leave the other.
In actuality, this meant that if Alisson asked to go, Liverpool would grant his request, according to several sources. Additionally, it meant that if the Reds asked Alisson to stay, he would do so for the last year of his contract.
Alisson Set To Stay At Liverpool
Furthermore, according to a recent information from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have made a choice and told Alisson explicitly that they still want him to be their starting goalkeeper for the next campaign.
“Juventus offered in April a long-term deal to Alisson,” began Romano when reporting on his YouTube channel. “He has one year left at Liverpool and Juventus offered a longer contract. It could be two plus one or three years.
“But, at the moment, Liverpool in the last 24 hours told Alisson directly that they want him to stay at the club.”
