Alan Shearer called Andy Robertson one of the Premier League’s greatest acquisitions ever as the captain of Scotland ended his Liverpool career on Sunday.
Robertson is leaving Liverpool after nine years at the club, where he won two Premier Leagues, a Champions League, and many other trophies.
The 32-year-old, who was acquired from Hull in 2017 for £8 million, has long been considered one of the Premier League’s best-value signings.
“I think pound for pound he’s one of the best signings the Premier League has seen,” England legend Shearer said on the BBC’s Match of the Day as reported by Liverpool FC.

“In terms of what Liverpool paid for him… what was it, £8 million ($10.8 million)? For what he’s given to Liverpool and the way he’s played.
“Everything about him in terms of being the ultimate professional has just been first-class.
“I go back to the fee, and it was incredible value for money.”
