Bruno Fernandes has reportedly accused Roy Keane of misunderstanding his remarks after the Irishman implied that the Portuguese prioritizes his own accomplishments over helping Manchester United in winning.
Keane, a former midfielder for United, claimed that more attention was being paid to Fernandes’ assist numbers than to the team’s victory over Nottingham Forest last weekend.
The playmaker tied the Premier League assist record after making his 20th assist of the season and setting up Bryan Mbeumo in the 3-2 victory over Forest at Old Trafford.
He matched Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne for the most assists in a single season, but Keane was not too impressed by the United captain.

Speaking on The Overlap last Monday, Keane said: “When you’re the captain of a club and you’re supposed to be driving the club forward, do not be getting bogged down by just your role in the team, just assists.
“What I heard at United at the weekend, honestly, I was raging with it. The whole chat about his assists… Everyone, the players were [talking about it], the game was about his assists. That’s the whole thing.
