Barcelona’s pursue brilliant youth on the verge of breaking out continues, and their long-held interest in Belgian winger Jesse Bisiwu has been formalized. The 18-year-old piqued the interest of Barcelona scouts last summer, and the Catalan club has been attempting to work out a deal for some months.
Their interest in Bisiwu was reported in January, after scouting him at the Under-17 World Cup in November 2025. Mobindi Marthy, Bisiwu’s agent, acknowledged Barcelona’s interest in him in February, but added that he was being pursued by a lot of major teams. Two weeks ago, Barcelona’s Head of Scouting, Joao Amaral, visited the UEFA Youth League final between Brugge and Real Madrid, when he spoke with Brugge Sporting Director Devy Rigaux about Bisiwu.

Barcelona made bid for Bisiwu.
According to MD, Barcelona has now submitted an offer to Brugge for Bisiwu. Previously, it was rumored that he would prefer a move to Barcelona, and their objective is to complete a transaction similar to that of Roony Bardghji, paying a relatively cheap transfer price to add him to their Barca Atletic squad and watching how he adjusts to the first team in training. Barcelona is still waiting on a response from Brugge on their offer, and no details about the sums have been published.
According to the Catalan newspaper, Brugge’s reluctance to sell may be mitigated by Bisiwu’s willingness to push the sale, as well as the fact that his contract has just one year remaining. Previous reports have taken a different tone, with Brugge assuming that they will ultimately obtain a renewal with Bisiwu and that they were in no hurry to bargain for a player whose worth may skyrocket with playing time in the first team.
