Jurgen Klopp Faces Immediate Issue If He Returns To Management, Warns Liverpool Icon

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted he is “not quite finished” with coaching, but a return could come with immediate challenges.

Klopp stepped away from Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season and has since taken up a role with Red Bull as global head of soccer.

Despite enjoying his new position, speculation about a managerial comeback continues.

The German has ruled out managing another Premier League club but has left the door open for opportunities abroad, with links to top European sides occasionally emerging.

However, one major issue could complicate any return — rebuilding his trusted coaching team from scratch.

Klopp May Need New Backroom Staff For Comeback

Several of Klopp’s former assistants have already moved on to new roles. His long-time deputy Pep Lijnders initially became manager of Red Bull Salzburg before later joining Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Vitor Matos has transitioned into management, currently working with Swansea City after a stint in Portugal, reports Liverpool Echo.

Goalkeeping coaches John Achterberg and Claudio Taffarel have also taken different paths, with Taffarel focusing fully on his role with the Brazil national team.

One familiar face who could reunite with Klopp is Peter Krawietz, currently working within Red Bull’s football structure.

While Klopp remains relaxed about his future, any return to management would likely require assembling an entirely new backroom team — a challenge that could shape his next move.
