Benjamin Sesko’s agent has reportedly criticized the Manchester United forward’s “super-sub” designation.
Elvis Basanovic maintains that the Slovenian is a complete striker who merits greater respect, despite a successful start to 2026 as primarily an impact player from the bench.
When Sesko joined Old Trafford, expectations were extremely high, and in 2026, the 22-year-old has really settled in.
The forward has developed into a clinical force under Michael Carrick’s guidance, scoring seven goals in the Premier League since the start of the season.

However, pundits have come to refer to him as a “super-sub” due to his propensity to enter games from the bench.
His side sees the nickname as a restriction on a player who feels he has earned a permanent berth in the starting XI, even though it suggests a certain tactical usefulness.
The ‘Super Sub’ Disapproval
According to Goal, Sesko’s agent Basanovic quickly refuted the idea that his client is just an impact player in an interview with Arena Sport.
He contended that the numbers paint a far more complete picture of the forward’s accomplishments than what the media portrays.
“If you ask me about this name [Super-sub], I don’t like it,” Basanovic said. “I like ‘super striker’ much more.
“I think Benjamin is a super striker. He has started 13 games this year, coming off the bench in 13 games.
“He scored half of his goals when he started the game and half when he came off the bench. We can see that he is a complete striker and Benjamin is someone who deserves the name ‘super striker!'”
