Manchester United Prepared To Reject Club’s Offer For £50m-Rated Star

Manchester United are allegedly set to reject Barcelona’s possible offer to sign Marcus Rashford on loan for a second time.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils will not accept a second loan bid for the out-of-favour Rashford, preferring a permanent sale.

Barcelona has the option in their current loan arrangement to make Rashford’s move permanent for £26 million, but their financial situation appears to be poor enough to prompt them to seek another loan instead.

Manchester United, on the other hand, are willing to re-sign Rashford and find another bidder for the English international.

Rashford has done well at the Nou Camp, and it appears United believe they might earn up to £50 million for him, according to the Mirror.

In that situation, Barcelona would undoubtedly benefit from signing the 28-year-old for nearly half the amount, but it remains to be seen whether they can be persuaded to do so.

Rashford has shown to be a productive squad player for Hansi Flick’s side, producing 10 goals and nine assists in all competitions despite only starting 21 games.

It would be rational for Barcelona to simply pay the £26 million required to keep Rashford, but Manchester United may do better today if he returns to Old Trafford.

What next for Marcus Rashford?

In actuality, it’s difficult to envision anyone paying up to £50 million for Rashford, no matter how much United believe his value would rise.

Some United fans may even believe that the club should simply bring him back and reintegrate him into the first-team squad.

Rashford’s stint at United did not go well, but he has returned to his finest form in La Liga, which may enable him return to his parent club fresh and confident.

Either that, or the change of scenery has benefited him, and he would be in a rut again if he returned to play for United.
