Kasper Schmeichel could be forced to retire after suffering a severe quadruple shoulder injury while playing for Celtic.
The 39-year-old revealed he tore his bicep, rotator cuff, labrum, and dislocated his shoulder, requiring two surgeries and up to 12 months of rehabilitation.

Speaking on CBS Sports, Schmeichel admitted, “I could’ve potentially played my last-ever football game.
Football has been my whole identity.” The injury rules him out of this year’s FIFA World Cup with Denmark.
Legendary Career In Jeopardy
Schmeichel enjoyed a trophy-laden career, winning the Premier League with Leicester City, lifting the FA Cup, Community Shield, and later claiming the Scottish Premiership and League Cup with Celtic.
The goalkeeper earned 120 caps for Denmark, becoming the fifth-most capped Danish player.
He began his career with Manchester City and had loan spells at multiple clubs before becoming Leicester’s iconic No.1, reports Talk Sports.
His father, Peter Schmeichel, was present during the interview, expressing heartbreak at his son’s predicament.
Kasper described the injury severity, warning that every dive risks further damage.
Despite the setback, Schmeichel remains determined to attempt a comeback. He called it “probably one of the greatest feats of my career” if he can return from this brutal shoulder injury.
