Joan Laporta Re-Elected Barcelona President After Landslide Victory

Joan Laporta has been re-elected president of FC Barcelona after securing a commanding victory in the club’s presidential election.

Laporta won 68 percent of the vote, comfortably defeating rival Victor Font, who received around 30 percent of the ballots from club members.

The victory marks Laporta’s fourth time serving as Barcelona president and represents one of the biggest winning margins in the club’s election history.

He received 32,934 votes, making it the second-highest total ever recorded in a Barcelona presidential election.

During his victory speech, Laporta thanked club members, staff and the electoral board for their role in organising what he described as a celebration of democracy within the club.

Laporta promises exciting years ahead for Barcelona

Laporta said the strong mandate from members would give the club confidence and momentum for the coming years.

He described the result as “resounding” and insisted it provides Barcelona with the strength to move forward during an important period for the club’s future.

The president also praised Hansi Flick, who voted after guiding Barcelona to a 5-2 victory against Sevilla.

Laporta asked supporters to applaud Flick and other club figures who participated in the election process, reports Football Espana.

Laporta also acknowledged the contributions of sporting director Deco and former player Bojan Krkic.

He concluded by promising that Barcelona supporters could expect exciting years ahead as the club continues building toward future success.
