Former Premier League footballer Joey Barton and another suspect were taken into custody after a guy was attacked close to a golf club.
According to the BBC, the incident took place in Fairway, next to Huyton and Prescot Golf Club in Merseyside, on Sunday at 21:00 GMT.
According to Merseyside Police, when officers got at the location, they discovered a guy with facial and rib injuries.
On suspicion of injuring, two men, ages 43 and 50, were taken into custody. Both males are still being held for interrogation.

According to the police, the man was brought to the hospital so that his facial and rib injuries could be assessed.
Gervase de Wilde, who represented former England football player Eni Aluko in a High Court hearing earlier about a libel suit involving Barton, stated that his instructing counsel had “received a call from a duty solicitor in a police station in Liverpool” just prior to the hearing.
Barton “was arrested yesterday and is currently being held in custody,” Mr. de Wilde said the court.
Burnley, Queens Park Rangers, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Rangers were among the teams Barton represented.
After retiring from football in 2017, the midfield player went into management.
