Real Madrid Star To Undergo Tests Ahead Of Man City Clash

Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe reportedly returned to Spain yesterday and started the last stage of his recovery.

The 27-year-old’s immediate goal is to play this Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Manchester City.

How his left knee reacts over the next few days will be a major factor in determining his availability. The French striker sought a second opinion on his knee sprain from knee specialist Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet in Paris, where he finished a portion of his recuperation.

Due to ongoing pain from an injury he first suffered on December 7, Mbappe was forced to stop playing. He had made intermittent comebacks for a few games, but the issue remained unresolved.

Mbappe’s Tests Today

The first Champions League game of the encounter against Manchester City in Madrid on March 11 has been the focal point of Mbappe’s recovery strategy from the start.

Mbappe has now reported to Valdebebas early on Monday morning, according to Mundo Deportivo, where he will go through a fresh medical assessment to decide on the next phase of his recuperation.

The 27-year-old forward has been adhering to a conservative treatment regimen and has worked with the club’s recovery specialists for a few days in Paris.

He had his last rehabilitation session in France yesterday morning before returning by plane to the Spanish capital.

Mbappe has not officially been declared out for the match against City, which is in just two days. His recuperation has gone well, and today’s assessment will decide whether he can start training on the field or carry on with his rehabilitation in the gym.
