Pedro Neto Undergoes Severe Punishment Following Misconduct in FA Clash Against Arsenal

Chelsea winger Pedro Neto could face additional punishment after his red card in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Neto received his first yellow for dissent after Jurrien Timber scored the winning goal, visibly arguing with referee Darren England on the pitch.

Minutes later, he fouled Gabriel Martinelli to prevent a counter-attack, earning a second yellow and an immediate sending off.

Following the match, Neto lingered on the touchline, continuing to argue with officials before exiting to the tunnel in frustration.

FA Investigates Neto’s Conduct

The Football Association confirmed it had charged Neto with improper conduct and/or using abusive language, giving him until Monday, 9 March, to respond.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior acknowledged the club’s disciplinary record has deteriorated, urging players to take responsibility for their actions on the field.

“Some actions are unacceptable at this level. Players must focus and concentrate. Accountability is crucial across the squad this season,” Rosenior explained.

Neto’s dismissal marked Chelsea’s seventh red card in the Premier League this season, including previous incidents involving Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

The FA could impose further suspension or fines, emphasizing Chelsea’s urgent need to restore discipline ahead of critical Premier League fixtures, reports Mirror.
