Liverpool head coach, Arne Slot Has reportedly offered a positive injury update on Florian Wirtz ahead of the Reds’ clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The German has missed Liverpool’s last three games due to a back injury, but on Wednesday he made progress in his recovery.
His health will now be evaluated to see if he can take part briefly in the Emirates FA Cup visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night.
Slot Claims Wirtz Could Have Some Minutes Against Wolves
“He trained half and half yesterday with the team,” Slot said at his pre-match press conference.
“What I mean with that is he was a ‘joker’, you say over here I think, so he made the next step in his rehab.
“So, let’s see where he is today and if he then could be available for a few – a few – minutes tomorrow, in the best scenario.”
Asked whether his players came through Tuesday’s Premier League encounter at Molineux without any injury concerns, Slot replied: “Yeah, I think they did. Until now they did.”

When asked if there will be a shake-up on the side that faced the same opposition on Tuesday, the Dutchman responded: We have a few, but we don’t have 11, as you know.
“But we do have a few options. I always have options to bring in and players you can bring in, you can also let them start. So we do have a few options.
“But again, not for the first time this season that three days after a game we’ve again dropped points. And that is something I’ve seen us doing quite a lot this season.
“And now it’s again three days after the last one. So, we have to be better than we were the last time we played Wolves.
