Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes Owner Of Spanish Football Club

Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a significant step toward football ownership by purchasing a 25 per cent stake in UD Almería.

The Portuguese superstar completed the investment through CR7 Sports Investments, strengthening his growing business portfolio beyond his playing career ambitions.

Ronaldo, now 41, continues scoring regularly for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia while planning carefully for retirement in the future.

His move into Spanish football comes one year after Almería were taken over by a Saudi investment group consortium ownership.

In a statement, Ronaldo described the decision as a longtime ambition and praised the club’s foundations and growth potential plans.

Ownership Ambitions Growing

Almería currently compete in Spain’s Segunda División and are targeting promotion back to La Liga in coming seasons soon again.

The investment immediately sparked fresh speculation about Ronaldo’s long-term dream of owning former club Manchester United in the Premier League.

He previously suggested that structural issues, rather than managers, were responsible for the club’s ongoing struggles at Old Trafford stadium.

Speaking at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo insisted ownership clarity would allow him to fix problems decisively at United, reports Mirror.

Manchester United’s ownership changed recently when INEOS acquired a minority stake and assumed control of football operations at the club.

Despite approaching retirement, Ronaldo remains under contract at Al Nassr until June 2027 and feels physically strong for competitive action.

While still delivering goals, his growing investments suggest Cristiano Ronaldo is carefully building a powerful future in football ownership worldwide.
