The 2025-26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season is gradually coming to a closure as there are just 11 gameweeks left to wrap up the campaign.
The final stretch of the season will see more managers take risks as they look to climb further up the pile and better their last season’s rankings.
Gameweek 27 saw another defender top the chart as far as the player of the week is concerned.
Manchester City ace, Nico O’Reilly (£5.0m) followed the path of Virgil van Dijk (£6.0m) to claim exactly the same amount of points as the Dutchman last GW.
The 20-year-old scored twice and claimed the maximum bonus points as the Cityzens recorded a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United. He now has 30 points in the last two GWs.

Van Dijk returned another double-figure haul in Liverpool’s 1-0 triumph at Nottingham Forest after providing an assist to the solitary goal, keeping a clean sheet and also got two bonus points reward to collect 11 in total.

The 34-year-old’s teammate, Alexis Mac Allister (£6.2m), who netted the winner against the Tricky Trees collected 13 points after two defensive contributions points and three bonus points in addition to the goal.
Crystal Palace goalkeeper, Dean Henderson (£5.0m) was one point adrift of O’Reilly following a penalty save and a clean sheet in the Eagles’ 1-0 win over Wolves.
In just his second start in 12 games, Eberechi Eze (£7.2m) netted a brace in Arsenal’s 4-1 win away at bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby.

The England international collected 14 points in the process which was one more than his teammate, Viktor Gyokeres (£8.8m), who also scored twice in the game.
