Tottenham Announce Dele Alli Return For North London Derby Against Arsenal

Tottenham have confirmed Dele Alli’s return ahead of their north London derby matchup with Arsenal this weekend.

Dele, who Spurs have called “one of the most popular players of the modern era,” will make his special return to N17 on Sunday. At halftime, he will talk with Paul Coyle, the pitchside broadcaster.

According to the Evening Standard, following Jan Vertonghen’s recent parade in front of supporters, it is the most recent former star of the highly acclaimed Mauricio Pochettino era to be introduced to the crowd at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Former captain Heung-min Son made his first appearance since leaving in the summer in a Champions League victory over Slavia Prague.

Throughout his seven years in north London, Dele scored 67 goals in 269 games and played a key role in some of Spurs’ most memorable moments alongside players like Christian Eriksen, Son, Harry Kane, and Vertonghen.

He is presently without a club since leaving Como last season. Before that, he spent time with Everton and Besiktas after leaving Spurs in early 2022.

Additionally, it will be Igor Tudor’s first game as manager after Thomas Frank was fired.

Spurs are fighting for relegation and are in dire need of points. They are now two points ahead of Nottingham Forest in 17th place and five ahead of West Ham in 18th.
