Robin van Persie Sets Feyenoord Training Plan For Raheem Sterling Following Ban

The 31-year-old England winger reportedly held discussions with 18 clubs before choosing Feyenoord, where he’ll play under former Arsenal star Van Persie.

Sterling has not featured for Chelsea this season and will be eager to make an immediate impact, reviving his career in the Netherlands.

Belgium Camp to Integrate Sterling

Van Persie confirmed that Feyenoord has arranged a training camp in Belgium, allowing Sterling to join the squad ahead of Dutch Eredivisie matches.

“This is allowed abroad. We are doing it for him, but also to work on overall team development,” Van Persie explained to reporters.

Sterling will start training the day after the camp begins, with the manager monitoring his fitness before considering him for match selection.

“He hasn’t played for six months, so we’ll see each week when he’s ready for a match,” Van Persie added cautiously.

The winger watched Feyenoord’s 1-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles from the stands, unable to participate due to work permit delays and fitness concerns.

Sterling stated he took his time deciding on Feyenoord to understand his role and ensure he can add value immediately to the team, reports Daily Star.
