Manchester United are heading to east London on Tuesday night in an attempt to win a fifth successive Premier League game under Michael Carrick.
With victories over Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham, and Tottenham, United have solidified their position in fourth place.
With just one point separating them and Liam Rosenior’s team visiting Leeds United, another victory will further increase their lead above Chelsea.

Mason Mount has been confirmed to be out of the trip, and Carrick is still dealing with injury problems off the field.

“Mason will probably not be available for Tuesday, likely after, but definitely going into the Everton game he’ll be back,” Carrick said during his pre-match press conference for West Ham as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
Matthijs de Ligt is also facing a race against time as he recovers from a back issue. The defender has not featured since United’s win at Crystal Palace on November 30.
“Matthijs, we’ll see how he develops,” Carrick went on. “The Everton game feels a long way off at the moment, so we’ll see how he progresses.
In contrast, West Ham, who have won three of their previous four league games, are still in the relegation zone despite their recent improvement in play. Nuno Espirito Santo, the manager, did not specify which players would miss the game at his press conference.
“Unfortunately, we’re going to have some players out,” he said. “It is what it is, but I’m not going to say who it is.”
