Barcelona Block January Exit Of Youth Gem Despite Six-Year Agreement With Almeria

Barcelona has taken a tough stance on the future of one of their youth prospects, vowing to prevent Quim Junyent’s January transfer despite the fact that the player already has a long-term contract with Almeria.

According to SPORT, Junyent will not be permitted to leave this winter, despite having signed a contract that will bind him to Almeria for the next six seasons once his current contract expires.

The decision has put the midfielder in an odd and difficult predicament, as he now faces several months in limbo before completing his transfer in the summer.

A hard scenario for everyone

Junyent’s situation at Barcelona has gotten more difficult in recent weeks. He has not been featured in Barça Atletic’s matchday rosters, and he has lately been left out of the Juvenil A team.

This lack of participation has generated concerns regarding his sporting role for the rest of the season.

Negotiations between Barcelona, the player’s representatives, and Almeria lasted until the last hours of the transfer window.

However, the Catalan club insisted on including other clauses in the agreement that would apply over the next four months.

These conditions were deemed unsatisfactory by Almeria, resulting in the collapse of the January move.

As a result, Junyent will be under contract with Barcelona until the conclusion of the season, at which point he is likely to legally join Almeria, who have made a great commitment to him and propose a long-term sporting ambition.

Almeria and Junyent’s agreement is regarded as final and is only pending its implementation in the summer.

Almeria’s goals are thought to have been a major factor as well.

Junyent is seen as one of the cornerstones of the club’s goal to become a competitive team in the upcoming years, which is supported by significant investors and plans to upgrade their stadium.
