Real Madrid are having a difficult season, and the same can be said for their greatest ever player; Cristiano Ronaldo.
With 17 goals in 18 Saudi Pro League games, he is still scoring goals at the age of 40, but as things stand, the Portuguese may have another season without a trophy.
Ronaldo, who remarked a few months ago that scoring for him is easier in La Liga than Saudi Arabia, has his Al-Nassr club now three points off the top of the Saudi Pro League.
With Karim Benzema’s impending signing, Al Hilal, who are currently at the top of the standings, could soon move further ahead.
According to A Bola as reported by Football Espana, Ronaldo is furious over Benzema’s signing for Al Hilal.
He is angry about Al-Nassr’s lack of transfer business during the winter window, and on the basis of this, he has decided to go on strike with immediate effect.
Ronaldo Set To Miss Al Nassr’s Clash With Al Riyadh
Ronaldo would therefore not take part in Al-Nassr’s Saudi Pro League game against Al Riyadh on Monday.
It is uncertain whether he would extend his strike into forthcoming games, but for now, his intention is to not be involved for the time being.

Given Ronaldo’s influence in the league, his choice might have a profound impact on Al-Nassr and Saudi football.
It might result in fewer people attending games and watching TV, which is not what the Saudi Pro League’s management need.
Whether Al-Nassr is able to close any business of their own is still up in the air. If so, it might lead to Ronaldo, who is determined to complete the Saudi football season with a trophy, making a comeback with immediate effect.
