FPL GW24 Recap: Ekitike An Option To Haaland?; iSoccer Winners

The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek 24 saw Hugo Ekitike (£8.8m) add another double digit haul to his rank in his debut season in England.

The Frenchman, who netted a brace in Liverpool’s 4-1 rout of Newcastle United now has four double figure hauls which has made several managers to see him as a viable option for Erling Haaland (£15.0m), who has had it extremely difficult to find the goalscoring boots he had earlier in the campaign.

With this, some managers, who are yet to bring in Ekitike to their teams are looking to ditch Haaland, who has netted just a single goal in the last seven games for him as the points are not forthcoming from the ‘Norse god’.

The two players are set to square off when Liverpool host Manchester City on Sunday. After the clash, the Reds will travel to Sunderland and Nottingham Forest before hosting West Ham United followed by an away match at Wolves.

City on the other hand, will host Fulham and Newcastle before an away trip to Leeds United then a home clash with Forest.

Going by the fixtures, Haaland is still the player to have in your team. However, Ekitike’s current rich vein of form somewhat countered this.

At this stage of the season, players’ form often supersede the fixtures. We will leave you to make the decision yourselves and we hope it is going to be the best one.

Ekitike’s teammate, Florian Wirtz (£8.3m) notched 12 points in the encounter with the Magpies following a goal, an assist and two bonus points.

Just like the 23-year-old, Wirtz has also registered four double digit hauls this term.

Ibrahima Konate (£5.4m) completed the Reds trio with double figures as he claimed 11 points on his return to the team following a compassionate leave.

Elsewhere, Arsenal ace, Noni Madueke (£6.8m) finally registered his first attacking returns since leaving Chelsea for the Emirates.

The England international netted a goal and provided an assist to claim 14 points in Arsenal’s comprehensive 4-0 win against Leeds United.

Casemiro (£5.5m) collected 13 points in Manchester United’s 3-2 triumph over Fulham which saw him surpass the 100-point mark this season.

Brentford goalkeeper, Caoimhin Kelleher (£4.6m) once again impressed in the Bees’ stunning 1-0 win away at Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old Irish shot-stopper has now plundered 50 points in the last eight gameweeks which is more than any goalkeeper within that period.
