Galatasaray have reportedly identified Marc Casado as a possible transfer target this January transfer window.
According to Barca Universal, the Barcelona midfield player, whose position in the starting lineup has changed drastically in recent months, is being attentively watched by the Turkish powerhouses.
It should be mentioned that Casado has a €100 million release clause and is still bound to Barcelona until 2028.
The club may be open to considering bids despite that long-term contract, especially since the midfielder isn’t as important to Hansi Flick as he was the previous season.
A Squad Player
Casado has only played in one of Barcelona’s previous five games, starting against Racing Santander in the Copa del Rey. His minutes have been few aside from that appearance.

This is due to the increased competition in the Barcelona midfield, since Marc Bernal seems to have overtaken Casado in Flick’s plans.
This change was recently demonstrated against Slavia Praha, as Casado stayed on the bench the entire time while Bernal entered the game as the holding midfielder.
Given that young prospect Tommy Marques is making an impression in training in the same position as him, the situation is made more difficult by the contract stability surrounding him.
Barcelona are not in a position to reduce the size of their team in January, despite the increasing uncertainty.
Pedri and Gavi’s injuries have decreased the depth of the midfield, so there are options but not too many.
It is consequently anticipated that any decision over Casado’s future will be delayed until the summer.
