Sancho Aims Dig At Man United Managers With Emery Comment

Jadon Sancho made a subtle jab at his old Manchester United coaches after reaching the heights of his loan stint at Aston Villa.

Sancho, 25, ultimately scored his first goal for Unai Emery’s team on Thursday as they defeated Turkish giants Fenerbahce 1-0 in the Europa League.

With one game remaining, Villa have already advanced to the competition’s round of 16 thanks to the outcome.

Sancho was a continual threat until Emery substituted him in the final moments. His header in the 25th minute was sufficient to secure all three points in Istanbul.

Sancho Speaks About His Chances Under Emery

The United loanee is enjoying playing under Emery, who he was asked about post-match. “He just keeps on telling me to be positive every time I play,” Sancho told TNT Sports.

“It’s nice to have a manager who backs you and obviously believes in you. Again, every opportunity I get, I’m going to try and do 100 per cent, and hopefully I can deliver more goals.”

After feeling abandoned at Old Trafford, Sancho is obviously enjoying being “backed.” Two different loan moves resulted from the winger’s infamous altercation with former United boss Erik ten Hag.

Sancho didn’t play a single game under Ruben Amorim and was placed in a five-man bomb squad upon his return from a stint at Chelsea.

United have the option to extend his Red Devils contract by a further 12 months, but it ends in June, which also happens to be the end of his loan at Villa.
