Grealish Set for Long Spell on Sidelines As Everton Await Return Update

Everton’s loan star Jack Grealish has suffered a serious foot injury that could sideline him for months.

The 30-year-old winger joined Everton from Manchester City this season and quickly became a fan favourite.

Grealish has contributed two goals and six assists in 20 appearances, helping Everton climb to 10th.

He played the full 90 minutes in Everton’s 1-0 win at Aston Villa last weekend.

Everton confirmed the injury in a club statement on Tuesday, revealing Grealish will undergo specialist review.

The statement added the player is currently under the care of the club’s medical team.

Grealish faces long spell on the sidelines

Reports from The Athletic suggest Grealish has a suspected stress fracture in his foot.

That would mean a lengthy recovery, potentially ruling him out for most of the season.

The specialist assessment later this week will provide a clearer return date for the England international.

It is a major blow for Everton, who have relied heavily on his creativity this campaign.

Grealish had also hoped to force his way back into England’s World Cup squad this summer, reports Metro.

However, the injury makes that dream extremely unlikely if he misses the remainder of the season.

Everton’s loan deal includes a £50m option to buy the forward from Manchester City.

But a long injury layoff could complicate any potential permanent transfer this summer.

Everton return to action on Monday against Leeds United in the Premier League.
