Real Madrid are reportedly already planning for a new head coach, with Jurgen Klopp emerging as their No.1 target to replace Alvaro Arbeloa.
The Spanish giants have endured a turbulent period following Xabi Alonso’s departure earlier this week, just months into his reign.
Arbeloa was promoted from his Castilla role to steady the ship, but his tenure has begun poorly, with a Copa del Rey exit against Segunda División side Albacete.
Reports from Spain suggest Arbeloa is viewed as a short-term solution, with the club preparing to appoint a high-profile manager ahead of next season, reports Football 365.
Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has now been strongly linked with the role, despite stepping away from frontline management in 2024.
Klopp currently works as Red Bull’s Global Head of Football, a position he enjoys due to its reduced pressure and flexibility.
Klopp Would Accept Real Madrid Job on One Condition
According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Klopp would seriously consider a return to management if Real Madrid make a concrete approach for summer 2026.

The report states that Real Madrid and the German national team are the only two projects capable of tempting Klopp back to the touchline.
While Klopp is content in his current role, Real Madrid have long fascinated him, making the Bernabéu job a realistic possibility if “everything fits.”
Spanish reports add that Klopp is already Real Madrid’s preferred option, ahead of names such as Enzo Maresca and Zinedine Zidane, whose return is considered unlikely at this stage.
