Barcelona Star’s Return Boosts Super Cup Chances

Barcelona Star’s Return Boosts Super Cup Chances

There has never been a better moment for Barcelona than Dani Olmo’s return.

The former RB Leipzig player made a spectacular return last weekend by scoring against Espanyol following a challenging month on the sidelines.

In addition to helping the team that evening, that goal brought Olmo back into contention before the Spanish Super Cup.

Olmo suffered a dislocated shoulder shortly after scoring in Barcelona’s victory over Atletico Madrid, which kept him out of action for several weeks.

It was an unwelcome setback, particularly since he was starting to fit into the part Hansi Flick had in mind for him.

Olmo’s significance has always been made plain by Flick as claimed by Barca Universal. The Spaniard is Barcelona’s ideal and comprehensive choice for a starting attacking midfielder, according to the coach.

Flick is aware of Olmo’s history of injuries, especially with regard to muscle problems, so cautious care is still necessary.

Squad depth becomes critical at this point. Flick can rotate without compromising the team’s performance thanks to Fermin Lopez’s outstanding form, Raphinha’s tactical adaptability, and Gavi’s expected return.

Barcelona can now safeguard one of their most important players while still being competitive, as opposed to hurrying or overloading Olmo.

Olmo’s influence this season has been evident despite his few appearances. He has already produced five goals and two assists in 18 games in all competitions.

With Olmo on the field, Barcelona gain dominance in central areas, increases their goal threat, and become much more unpredictable in attack, so those figures only tell part of the picture.
