Despite ties with Premier League, Liverpool, Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi is allegedly considering a move to Real Madrid next summer.
According to Spanish source AS, Real Madrid is interested in Marc Guehi. The Merengues are looking to strengthen their offensive unit by adding a centre-back during next summer’s transfer window. So the 25-year-old Crystal Palace defender has surfaced as a Los Blancos target.
The Crystal Palace captain is also a target for Liverpool, with the Premier League winners coming close to signing him a few months back. However, the Reds have fallen behind Real Madrid in the race for the Englishman’s signature, as he has made the Santiago Bernabeu his preferred destination.
How did Marc Guehi fare at Crystal Palace?
Marc Guehi became a household name after joining Crystal Palace from Chelsea in July 2021. The 25-year-old was one of the Premier League’s finest young defensive prospects when he arrived at Old Trafford, and he has made great improvement over the previous four and a half years, becoming club captain.

The English international has made nearly 200 appearances for Crystal Palace, contributing 11 goals and eight assists. However, Guehi has entered the final seven months of his contract, and the circumstance has piqued the interest of several high-profile clubs. Liverpool and Real Madrid are among the clubs fighting for the FA Cup winner’s signature.
Liverpool’s interest in Marc Guehi is understandable. Giovanni Leoni has a long-term knee ailment and will be unable to start the 2026/27 season. Furthermore, Jonathan Konate’s long-term prospects are questionable, despite Real Madrid’s decision not to pursue him next summer. Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk is nearing the end of his career. So Guehi is a realistic Liverpool target.
