Manchester United are preparing for a busy January transfer window as major changes loom ahead of the 2026 season.
Ruben Amorim has now been in charge for over a year, and while performances have stabilised, squad evolution remains a priority.
United were active last summer, signing Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo to strengthen the attack.
More movement is expected in January, with Joshua Zirkzee, Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro all linked with potential exits.
Amid the uncertainty, reports have emerged suggesting a possible return for former midfielder Scott McTominay.
According to Caught Offside, Manchester United are interested in bringing McTominay back from Napoli, reports Mirror.
The Scotland international left Old Trafford last summer and has since enjoyed a remarkable rise in Serie A.
McTominay played a key role under Antonio Conte as Napoli won the league title last season.
He was later crowned Serie A Player of the Year, underlining his impact in Italian football.
Napoli are keen to retain him but are reportedly open to offers in the region of £60 million.
With Casemiro and Mainoo both linked with departures, McTominay’s return could appeal to United’s hierarchy.
