Barcelona preparing for a busy summer transfer window in 2026, with many openings to fill. Marcus Rashford, who is on loan from Manchester United, plays on the left wing.
After missing out on Nico Williams for the second year in a succession, Barcelona turned to Rashford this summer. He had a rough start in Catalonia, but since moving into the starting lineup in October, he has been really good.
Rashford wants to make a permanent move to Barcelona, as does Hansi Flick. According to Sport, he has encouraged the club to negotiate an arrangement with Manchester United next summer.

Flick has been really pleased with Rashford’s performance levels, statistics, and, most importantly, professionalism. He wanted Barcelona to sign the England international over Williams, so it was a relief for him when a deal was finally completed in August.
Rashford’s future rely on the economic circumstances
Barcelona is already looking into a deal for Rashford, but it will not be simple. They have a €30 million buy option as part of the summer agreement with Manchester United, but due to their financial difficulties, the possibility of that being exercised is low, implying that new club-to-club talks may be required.
Barcelona want to bring in a centre-back and a striker in addition to Rashford, who might sign permanently. They have yet to revert to La Liga’s 1:1 rule, which makes spending money on all three positions more of a pipe dream than a reality, thus the 28-year-old could wind up returning to Manchester United at the conclusion of the season, which would be a harsh blow for both him and his Catalan head coach.
