Barcelona have met with Robert Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, to discuss the 37-year-old striker’s future beyond the current season, as his contract approaches its end.
Lewandowski has publicly dismissed retirement speculation and signalled his desire to continue playing, while the club’s current stance suggests they are open to evaluating his role before making a decision.

Lewandowski Keen to Stay, but Starting Spot Uncertain
During a two-hour meeting with President Joan Laporta and Director of Football Deco, Zahavi conveyed Lewandowski’s interest in remaining at Barcelona, citing his settled family life in the city as a key factor.
However, Barcelona have indicated that any decision on an extension will depend on his performances for the remainder of the season, leaving a potential one-year deal on the table but not guaranteed.
Lewandowski’s starting position remains uncertain. This season, injuries and squad rotation have seen Ferran Torres preferred in sections of the campaign, challenging Lewandowski’s spot as the first-choice striker.
Should Torres cement his role, Barcelona may explore more cost-effective options rather than relying on Lewandowski as a secondary alternative, reports Espana.
Meanwhile, reports in Poland suggest Inter Miami are preparing to offer Lewandowski a move to Major League Soccer, including arranging housing should a transfer materialise.
While the MLS remains a possible future, Lewandowski is keeping his options open, with Barcelona yet to finalise any long-term plans. The coming months will be decisive in shaping the striker’s next chapter.
