Real Madrid Midfielder Expected To Return Against Sevilla

When Eduardo Camavinga left the field against Athletic Club earlier this month, there was hope that the injury was minor and that the player would be sidelined for only a few days.

Indeed, Camavinga appeared to return to training in a couple of days, making the team to face Celta Vigo in Real Madrid’s first game at the Santiago Bernabeu in over a month.

However, he did not make an appearance off the bench and was quickly withdrawn off the team’s roster for the following games.

The symptoms indicated a persistent niggle from which he had yet to fully heal.

Back in the mix.

According to COPE in a recent update, Camavinga is set to return to Real Madrid’s squad for the game against Sevilla and may even play a role on the night.

He will most likely not go with the club to face Talavera in the Copa del Rey game midweek, which is understandable given the opponent is from the lower divisions.

The goal, of course, is to have the midfielder fit and ready to play against Sevilla. After all, Xabi Alonso regards him as a useful defensive midfielder and interior midfielder in his squad.

So far this season, the Frenchman has mostly struggled with injuries and has only made four starts and eleven outings for Real Madrid in La Liga.

He has one goal in La Liga this season, which coincided with the game in which he was last injured.

Camavinga is likely to be Aurelien Tchouameni’s backup when he returns to the squad, but he might potentially play central midfield if the club needs more stability.

The full-back position is also an outside option, especially given the team’s recent troubles in that regard.
