Real Madrid Hold On To January Move Following Alonso Speculation

Real Madrid’s loss to Celta Vigo this weekend has been called by the local media as “plunging everything into uncertainty,” but Xabi Alonso’s future is at the centre of all that worry.

The manager must oversee a change in performance or risk being fired.

As early as this Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City, that response is needed, and if things don’t work out, Alonso’s job may be in jeopardy.

Alvaro Arbeloa, the manager of Real Madrid Castilla, is currently one of the top choices to step in temporarily.

Real Madrid Move To Stop Endrick’s Loan Deal To Lyon

Los Blancos are thinking of changing their January transfer plans, which is a sign of how dire the situation is.

Endrick Felipe, a teenage forward, agreed to a loan move to Olympique Lyon during the January transfer window because Alonso has so far frozen him out.

El Chiringuito reports that Endrick is going to complete that move on January 1st and take the number 17 shirt at Lyon if nothing changes.

However, Endrick’s camp were scheduled to fly to France this week to complete the reservation for his new residence in Lyon.

And according to Football Espana, someone at Real Madrid called Endrick’s team to ask them to postpone that trip.

Under Carlo Ancelotti, the 19-year-old made few appearances, as he did occasionally come off the bench as an impact substitute.

Endrick only played 11 minutes against Valencia this season following an injury that kept him out until the middle of September.

Gonzalo Garcia Torres, who has made 13 appearances as a more robust number nine off the bench, seems to have been Alonso’s preferred option.
