Real Madrid Confirm Alexander-Arnold Injury Blow

Real Madrid have reportedly confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold sustained a muscular injury during the team’s midweek victory against Athletic Bilbao.

This is only the most recent setback for the England international, who has battled ailments since moving from Liverpool.

“Following tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player, Trent Alexander-Arnold, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the rectus anterior quadriceps in his left leg. His progress will be monitored,” a club statement read.

Following Los Blancos’ statement, reports in Spain suggest the England defender may be out for almost two months due to the problem.

Alexander-Arnold To Miss Crucial Matches For Real Madrid

Due to his injury, he will most likely not be able to return to England for Real Madrid’s thrilling Champions League match against Manchester City next week.

Alexander-Arnold will also miss the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Atletico Madrid.

The 27-year-old’s injury setback is the most recent difficulty he has faced since moving from Anfield to the Bernabeu in the summer.

Owing in part to a hamstring injury that kept him out of seven games earlier in the season, the gifted right-back has had difficulty securing a spot in Xabi Alonso’s starting lineup.

Unfortunately, after several lackluster performances, his signing has been questioned in some quarters. After Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory against Bilbao, Alexander-Arnold was once again criticized by Spanish media, despite the fact that he had a beautiful assist in the match.

Sport were brutal in their assessment of Alexander-Arnold’s game, branding him as a “signing who continues to disappoint”.
