Arsenal Finalise Deals For ‘New Neymar’

Arsenal are pushing ahead with their aggressive youth recruitment strategy as they move to finalise deals for highly rated Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero.

The 16-year-olds, currently with Independiente del Valle, are viewed as two of the brightest prospects in South American football. Both players will be eligible to join the Gunners in August 2027 when they turn 18.

Edwin, a right winger, has already drawn comparisons to Neymar for his flair, agility and attacking creativity. His brother Holger operates as an attacking midfielder and is known for his vision and calmness on the ball.

Independiente del Valle are renowned for producing elite young talent, with stars like Moises Caicedo and Piero Hincapié emerging from their academy and moving to top European leagues.

Gunners Continue Bold Youth Recruitment Strategy

Arsenal’s pursuit of the Quintero twins forms part of a wider long-term plan to secure elite prospects early. Their recruitment drive began more than a year ago with the signing of Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford.

Recently, Arsenal also completed a deal worth around £1.7 million for Shamrock Rovers midfielder Victor Ozhianvuna, who will arrive in January 2027, reports The Standard.

The North London club have become increasingly competitive in the youth market, battling top Premier League rivals for the best emerging talent. Six of their 13 scholars this summer joined the academy in 2022 or later.

Last year, Arsenal beat Chelsea and Manchester City to sign winger Kyran Thompson from West Ham, with the 16-year-old already impressing in the UEFA Youth League.

Another rising prospect, Mishel Nduka, recently confirmed his move to Arsenal from Charlton and is now part of the Under-16 setup.
