Real Madrid will play Athletic Club on Wednesday night at San Mames, in an attempt to return to winning ways following a three-game winless streak in La Liga.
Xabi Alonso has welcomed conflicting fitness-related news leading up to the game: one player is expected to return, but another significant star is unlikely to make it.
Asencio Returns, But Huijsen Ruled Out
According to Madrid Universal, Los Blancos are set to welcome Raul Asencio back ahead of the match, but Dean Huijsen is unlikely to return in time.

Asencio had been recovering from gastroenteritis this past weekend, therefore he was unable to play against Girona.
The defender did a part of the group training on Monday and is set to be named in the squad list for the trip to the Basque nation.
As for Huijsen, the Spanish defensive prodigy has been absent for the last two games owing to pain that he picked up in the draw against Elche.
So far, the 20-year-old ace, who has become a vital player for Xabi Alonso, has not returned to training with the squad.
It is therefore anticipated that he won’t return in time to play Athletic Club on Wednesday.
Apart from Huijsen, Real Madrid are also poised to be without the services of captain Dani Carvajal and experienced defender David Alaba, both of whom are currently recovering from fitness issues.
Real Madrid welcomed Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger back from injury against Girona, with both receiving spots in the starting XI.
With Asencio now going to be available, it will be intriguing to watch who Alonso opts to go with in defence against Bilbao.
