Manchester United’s Next Signing’ Set To Arrive UK Within Days To Complete Transfer’

Manchester United are expected to sign Colombian youth international Cristian Orozco, who will arrive in the UK in the ‘coming few days.’ According to Fabrizio Romano, United intend to pay $1 million (£755,000) to Colombian team Fortaleza.

United are thought to value the young midfielder, who has 13 caps for his country at the minor level. His upcoming arrival is part of transfer chief Jason Wilcox’s aggressive recruitment strategy, which includes a swoop for the defensive midfielder.

The 17-year-old will formally transfer to Old Trafford next year after turning 18 in July and signing his contract on his trip to Manchester.

Orozco, who only joined his current side Fortaleza this summer, has been compared to fellow Colombian midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The present Chelsea midfielder is one of the top players in the Premier League, and United officials may regret their choice to walk away from transfer talks in 2021.

The club was in contact with Caicedo during his tenure at Independiente del Valle in January 2021, but apparently walked away from a deal owing to meddling from multiple agents.

Caicedo’s asking price of £5.5 million was considered too expensive, but he later broke the British record transfer fee and signed for Chelsea for an astounding £115 million.

United have demonstrated a willingness to learn from past mistakes by signing a number of bright young players from around the world. In the summer, they recruited teenage left defender Diego Leon as part of their South American expansion.

They also signed the highly touted Sekou Kone from Guidars FC last year, who has been compared to former Manchester City player Yaya Touré.
