Lisandro Martinez’s return to Manchester United training has created excitement, with the defender back on the grass after February’s serious ACL injury.
The Argentine has pushed hard for weeks to rejoin the squad, showing determination despite being repeatedly held back for fitness reasons.
Manager Ruben Amorim previously stopped him travelling to Nottingham Forest, insisting the defender avoid unnecessary risks following such a long recovery period.

Martinez also missed the draw against Tottenham, with United choosing caution after months spent rehabbing one of their most important defenders.
Shaw Emerges As Unexpected First Choice
His return after the international break was expected, but the situation he meets at Carrington has changed dramatically in recent months.
Before his injury against Crystal Palace, Martinez was United’s standout defender and an automatic pick in a stretched backline.
However, he now finds Luke Shaw occupying the position he once controlled, after the Englishman’s impressive revival this season.
Shaw has started eleven straight Premier League matches, rebuilding trust by producing consistently strong displays on the left side, reports MEN.
Going forward, Martinez must wait for opportunities, with Shaw currently ahead in the defensive hierarchy thanks to recent performances and reliability.
The Argentine will welcome the challenge, but the next eighteen months are crucial as his United contract runs until summer 2027.
