Manchester United winger, Bryan Mbeumo has expressed his disappointment in public following Cameroon’s World Cup elimination.
The African team were in play-off action on Thursday night, and were aware that a victory would be their only chance to compete in the competition in North America this summer.
Mbeumo was in the starting lineup as Cameroon faced the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Morocco. It wasn’t until the 91st minute of the game that the two teams could be separated.
The Cameroonian players were devastated when Chancel Mbemba sneaked in at the back post to send the ball past United loanee Andre Onana and start loud celebrations in the DR Congo.

Following the outcome, DR Congo will play Nigeria in the final match. The winners will then compete in the intercontinental play-off which will determine who will play at the World Cup next summer.
Mbeumo was unable to conceal his disappointment after Cameroon’s loss. Social media videos show the United forward walking down the tunnel by himself, apparently unhappy, barely pausing to give a quick handshake to a member of the coaching staff.
