Hansi Flick refused to let up Barcelona’s aggressive philosophy despite a chaotic 3-3 Champions League draw with Club Brugge.
The German coach reiterated that his team’s problems are due to gaps in effort rather than tactics after the Catalan giants clawed back from behind three times to salvage a point on yet another painful European night.
Barcelona’s Champions League campaign encountered yet another obstacle when Club Brugge held them to a 3-3 draw in Belgium.
This is the club’s worst defensive run since 2013, when they conceded in 13 successive games. It marks their ninth straight game without a clean sheet.

Flick’s team spent the entire evening chasing the match as the home team took advantage of Barcelona’s high defensive line to score three goals, each of which required the visitors to rally. It was impossible to ignore the frailty without the ball, even though the comeback spirit was admirable.
With seven points from four group-stage games, Barca are still in a good spot but are becoming more exposed as a result.
Flick appeared upset after the game, dismissing claims that his tactical approach was to blame while hinting at harsh words for his team.
What Flick Said About His Team
According to Goal, following the match, Flick told Movistar+ that although his team’s lack of energy was unacceptable, he would not waver from his footballing philosophy.
“We can defend in the final third, but we’ll stick to our philosophy because we can do better,” the German said.
“When you lack intensity, you have no chance, especially in the Champions League. Club Brugge played very well, as I expected, and I told the players that. Last year’s 1-0 goal would have been two meters offside.
“But we want to play our game. A 3-3 draw isn’t the best result for us, but the positive aspect of the match is that we managed to come back after they took the lead three times. We do need to talk about this, though.”
