Jamie Carragher has reiterated his fears about Alexander Isak’s struggles at Liverpool, insisting the striker’s form has “proved his point.”
The £125million signing has endured a tough start since joining from Newcastle United, scoring just once in eight appearances.
Isak has also battled recurring groin issues, missing the last three games, and was absent from training ahead of the Real Madrid clash.

Manager Arne Slot confirmed that the Sweden international’s fitness issues stem from missing pre-season, saying Isak is “still catching up physically.”
Carragher Stands by His Warning
Carragher had questioned the club’s decision to sign Isak when Hugo Ekitike had already arrived earlier in the summer.
He suggested Liverpool of old would’ve opted for one striker rather than spending big on two similar players.
Responding to a fan on X, Carragher wrote: “My point all summer!” referencing his belief that Isak wasn’t a necessary addition.
While Isak has struggled, Ekitike has impressed with six goals in 14 appearances, becoming a fan favourite under Slot.
The Frenchman’s pace and link-up play have made him a more reliable option up front in recent weeks, reports Daily Star.
Carragher believes the contrast between the two forwards has justified his early doubts about Liverpool’s summer transfer strategy.
As Liverpool prepare to face Real Madrid, Slot will once again rely on Ekitike to lead the line in Isak’s absence.
The Reds will hope to continue their winning momentum after ending their domestic losing streak against Aston Villa.
