Liverpool Reveal ‘Sack’ Decision For Slot After Carabao Cup Exit

Liverpool have no plans to sack Arne Slot despite their alarming dip in form and a 3–0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

The reigning Premier League champions have now lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions, including four consecutive league defeats that have dropped them to seventh in the table.

Slot made ten changes to his side at Anfield, resting key players such as Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Cody Gakpo, but his youthful lineup was comfortably beaten by Palace.

Owners remain calm amid poor form

Despite growing frustration among fans, BBC Sport reports that Liverpool’s hierarchy remain “calm and measured,” insisting there is “no chance” Slot will be sacked.

The Dutchman, who guided the club to the Premier League title last season, still has “plenty of credit in the bank.”

A club source noted that Liverpool’s ownership is not prone to “hasty or panicky decisions,” particularly given the summer’s squad changes and injuries.

Slot defends his team selection

After the defeat, Slot defended his rotation policy, explaining that fixture congestion and injuries forced him to rest regular starters, reports Metro.

“This club has always used the League Cup to give academy players opportunities,” he said. “We have a big week ahead, and I needed fresh legs.”

Liverpool next face Aston Villa, Real Madrid, and Manchester City in a crucial run that could define their season.
