Barcelona is allegedly in talks to play a lucrative friendly match in Peru in December, which might boost the club’s finances.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has been given roughly €7-8 million to play the game in South America, which the club considers “difficult to refuse.”

According to the source, Barcelona is much more interested now that their La Liga match against Villarreal in Miami has been postponed, costing the team money.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta reportedly informed the players and coaching staff of the idea to play the game in Peru shortly before Christmas.

If the game goes ahead, it will not be the first time Barcelona has jetted abroad in December. In December 2023, they played a friendly against Mexican team c the United States.

There is no set date for the match, but it is expected to take place after Barcelona’s final game of 2025.
