Real Madrid won the El Clasico 2-1 on Sunday, a victory that was as important to Los Blancos mentally as it was in the title fight. The Santiago Bernabeu highly fired-up Real Madrid team for the visit of Barcelona, as they sought to end a four-game losing record.
Before the match, however, all attention was focused on Lamine Yamal, whose statements accusing Real Madrid of ‘robbing decisions’ and interfering with officials went viral. The 18-year-old’s comments were negatively received by the capital, and there was already speculation that Spain teammate Dani Carvajal might have some choice words for Lamine Yamal after the game.

The 33-year-old did not lie. Following an exchange of ‘pleasantries’ between Lamine Yamal and Carvajal, the Barcelona star returned for more. However, as soon as he did so, he was greeted by a wall of Real Madrid players eager to express their opinions on his statements.

‘You talk too much,’ Carvajal had been seen waving to Lamine Yamal, to which he responded,’same goes for you’. The resulting altercation resulted in a series of yellow cards and Vinicius Junior being escorted down the tunnel.
According to El Chiringuito, after the match, their feelings toward their opponent eased. ‘Thank you, Lamine Yamal’ was reportedly the most repeated phrase in the home dressing room, with Real Madrid players believing that his comments before the game provided them an extra edge and fire to propel them to victory.
It’s uncertain whether it would have made much of a difference, but the general consensus in Spain is that Lamine Yamal’s performance at the Bernabeu was not beneficial to Barcelona.
