FC Barcelona broke their losing streak before the October international break with a hard-fought victory over Girona in their final La Liga match. The two teams each scored once in the opening twenty minutes, but it wasn’t until injury time that Ronald Araujo scored the Blaugranes’ third goal of the game to seal the victory.
Despite the win, there is a sense at the Catalan club that the team is not functioning at the same level as the previous season, when the squad performed like a highly reliable and accurate machine. As things stand, both the manager and the team have a lot of flaws and doubts, as seen by numerous changes in the starting eleven and mistakes on the field.
In this context, Mundo Deportivo Reported that Araujo’s performance against Girona appears to be a message from Flick to his dressing room to restore harmony. The defender entered the game in the 82nd minute, but despite playing far from his normal position, he was able to make a difference in such a short period of time.

When Flick asked Araujo if he could envision himself playing as an attacker, the center-back responded without hesitation. He put on his shirt and confidently assured a staff member that he was going to score, which he did. His attitude of sacrifice and commitment shone through in every minute on the field.
Araujo’s cameo was brief but effective. In only a few touches, he disrupted Girona’s defensive system with his muscular presence, winning an aerial duel, recovering two balls, and even trying a cross before sealing the victory with his spectacular late goal.
The €35 million-rated Uruguayan defender’s accuracy was impressive too, completing three of his four passes before being booked for his emotional celebration.
