FSG Issue New Liverpool Statement As Owners Vow ‘Our Work Isn’t Done’

The Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has acknowledged their honor and pride in helping Liverpool reclaim its place at the top of English football. As they celebrate their 15th anniversary as owners, John W. Henry, Mike Gordon, and Tom Werner have said that the memories made when the Reds won the Premier League title at Anfield in May will last a lifetime.

Following a High Court decision that allowed the organization, then known as New England Sports Ventures, to purchase the club for a discounted price of £300 million due to the financial ruin caused by the previous owners, FSG formally ended the reign of Tom Hicks and George Gillett on October 15, 2010. The Reds have won three League Cups, the 2022 FA Cup, the 2019 Champions League, two Premier League crowns, and their first-ever Club World Cup in the fifteen years since they took over.

“When we first got involved with Liverpool, we knew we were joining something extraordinary and we hoped we could restore such an incredibly storied institution to standards it had previously set – but we could never have imagined exactly how the next 15 years would unfold,” said a statement on behalf of Henry, Werner, and Gordon. Reported By Express News.

“Our main goals were clear from the beginning: to restore success to Anfield and to secure the long-term stability and well-being of this outstanding team.

“We have made an effort to uphold the duty that accompanies our role as its guardians every day. Although we were aware of the magnitude of the task, we also saw the potential that might be achieved if everyone worked together.
