Barcelona goalkeeper, Marc Andre ter Stegen could make a stunning move to Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
The idea has gained traction as Newcastle consider their possibilities to bolster a crucial position in advance of a tough second half of the season, even though a transfer for the Germany international would be complicated.
According to Fichajes as reported by Caught Offside, Ter Stegen is one of Newcastle’s top targets for January.
Long considered one of Europe’s best keepers, the 33-year-old has been linked to a move in pursuit of guaranteed minutes ahead of a big international summer.

Signing a shot-stopper of ter Stegen’s caliber would be a declaration of intent for Newcastle. Eddie Howe’s team have established a core of competition and are still competitive both at home and in Europe.
The Germany international goalkeeper has elite expertise and has helped Barcelona in winning trophies.
Howe currently has Aaron Ramsdale and Nick Pope as options within the club, but if the opportunity arose, a transfer for Ter Stegen may be considered.
Ter Stegen wants more playing time to prepare for the World Cup next year, and Barcelona already have a quality goalkeeper in Joan Garcia, so his playing time will be limited. This is the main reason for a possible transfer.
