European Giants Enter The Race For Guehi

Bayern Munich have reportedly entered the race to sign Crystal Palace defender, Marc Guehi as he looks set to become a free agent next summer.

Guehi was ready to join Liverpool before the Eagles chose to pull the plug because they couldn’t find a suitable replacement, .

The 25-year-old was angered by that choice, as Oliver Glasner expressed his frustration that no one was found to replace him. Nevertheless, the Austrian will have been happy to see Guehi retained.

Although keeping Guehi was a wise move from a sporting standpoint, Palace could miss out £35 million because the defender’s contract expires next summer and a free transfer is now possible.

Liverpool were prepared to spend £35 million, which was far less than the £75 million Newcastle United were willing to pay during the previous transfer window.

Liverpool are anticipated to return to the table in January or the summer to pursue a low-cost deal. Florian Plettenberg claims that Bayern Munich are now genuinely interested in Guehi too.

As long as no contract extension is signed prior to January 1st—which is highly unlikely—Bayern and clubs outside of England can agree on a pre-contract with Guehi.

If the Premier League champions don’t want to pay for a deal in the winter transfer window, that might put Bayern and the other European teams in a better position than Liverpool.
